Kalamazoo, MI: On August 15, 2006 the university's board terminated Judith Bailey's contract as president of the university, citing unsatisfactory performance based on continued enrollment drops and budgetary issues. Bailey filed a wrongful termination and breach of contract lawsuit against the school. Western Michigan University's Board of Trustees unanimously approved a settlement agreement where Bailey will be paid $310,000 for moving and relocation expenses as well as deferred compensation for a total package worth more than $500,000.
