Sisters Lynda Maloney and Maria Rendina worked as assistants to Tom Gordon, but also helped gather evidence in the federal investigation against the former County Executive. The sisters filed a lawsuit against the county claiming Gordon and his top aide, Sherry Freebery, transferred them to menial jobs at the Bear library as punishment for participating in the federal investigation. Maloney and Rendina were eventually forced to quit, sell their homes, and move in together. New Castle County will pay the sisters a total of $690,000.
