Cook County, IL: Warren Kubicek, 58, an Evergreen Park crane operator was killed in a 2001 accident when the top part of the crane collapsed on his cab as he worked at the CSX Corp. rail yard in Bedford Park. His family filed a workman's compensation lawsuit against his employer and settled the case in Cook County Circuit Court. Central Intermodal, which handled rail yard maintenance, agreed to pay the biggest part of the settlement, $2.5 million, while CSX is to pay $2 million. CSX attorney confirmed the settlement.
