New York, NY: (Feb-24-07) The Federal Communications Commission filed claims against Univision, the nation's largest Spanish-language broadcaster, accusing it of circumventing guidelines on airing educational children's programs by running soap operas aimed mainly at adults. The violations were over a period between 2004 and early 2006 by 24 Univision stations. The broadcaster resolved the claims by settling with federal authorities for a sum of $24 million.
