Lake Land College District
Mattoon, IL: (Jun-02-07) In a recent settlement reached with former Lake Land College President Bill Thallemer, the college district agreed to pay him $128,167, amounting to 10 months of his annual salary. In exchange, the college district asked that Thallemer refrain from taking any legal action against them. A confidentiality clause, which was part of the agreement, prohibited Thallemer from disclosing the reasons for the sudden move. The confidentiality clause prevents Thallemer, College Board members, plus their respective legal counsel, from making any defamatory or disparaging statements against each other in the future.
The severance settlement will include the bard paying an additional $9,846 as health benefits to Thallemer and his family. The terms also include a $1,000 payment in settlement of claims he was discriminated against on the basis of his age prior to the date of the agreement.
