Tommy Bahama Group
Seattle, WA: (Jun-06-07) The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed charges against Seattle-based clothing store and manufacturer Tommy Bahama Group, claiming that the company discriminated against disabled workers. The EEOC sued the company under the Americans With Disabilities Act on behalf of a part-time employee, Todd Hiley, who worked for the company nearly three years. Hiley claimed that he was fired because of his disability, a traumatic brain injury.
In a settlement reached, Tommy Bahama agreed to pay $85,000 to settle the disability discrimination lawsuit. Tommy Bahama said it was pleased to have reached a settlement and that the agreement validates the company's position that Tommy Bahama operates in full compliance with EEOC regulations.
