This is a settlement for the Commercial lawsuit.
Baton Rouge, LA: (Jun-16-07) Pokey Chatman, a former women's basketball coach at the Louisiana State University (LSU), filed charges against the varsity after it sought to terminate her contract, alleging that she engaged in improper conduct with former players. LSU claimed that Chatman allegedly participated in sexual relationships with former, but no current, Lady Tigers, and though the university has no formal rules about relationships between faculty and students, officials claimed that the impropriety of such sexual contact is understood among professionals.
In a settlement reached, LSU agreed to pay Chatman $85,000. The figure is in addition to $75,000 the university agreed to pay Chatman as an NCAA Tournament bonus, making the total payout to Chatman $160,000, resolving all claims that Chatman filed against LSU. [TIMES PICAYUNE: COACH CONTRACT]
