TruGreen LandCare
Las Vegas, NV: (Oct-01-07) The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) brought a lawsuit against TruGreen LandCare, alleging that the Las Vegas company sexually harassed a female employee. According to the commission, a male manager at the company's Summerlin office intimidated and harassed a female employee, calling her obscene, gender-based derogatory terms. The commission says the manager yelled at the woman almost daily. The suit also alleged that the employee faced retaliation after complaining, as she was transferred to work as a manual laborer in the field as punishment.
As part of a settlement reached, TruGreen LandCare agreed to pay $100,000 to the female employee. Further, the company agreed to provide harassment training to its employees, and make semiannual reports for two years about its employment practices. [LAS VEGAS SUN: EMPLOYEE HARASSMENT]
