Chef Religious Discrimination
This is a settlement for the Discrimination lawsuit.
Chelsea, England: (Oct-08-07) Tama Siby, a Muslim chef at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, claimed that he was unfairly dismissed from his employment after he faced racial and religious discrimination. Siby, 26, was planning to sue Ramsay, his company and two of his chefs, after he was fired from the TV celebrity chef's flagship Gordon Ramsay restaurant in Chelsea, west London. The Chelsea eatery was recently named the top gastronomic experience in Harden's London Restaurants Guide 2008. As part of a settlement reached, the lawsuit that originally claimed over �50,000 in damages was resolved with an undisclosed payout. Siby's original claim was for �50,000 in damages to cover an alleged unlawful deduction of wages, injury to feelings and loss of earnings.
