Sports Marketing Agency
Los Angeles, CA: (Oct-09-07) Lloyd Lake brought charges against Reggie Bush, a Heisman Trophy winner, alleging that he and his partner Michael Michaels, both founders of New Era Sports & Entertainment, a marketing agency, made improper payments to Bush, which they sought to recoup. Lake and Michaels claimed over a year ago that they provided money to Bush's family as well as a home for which the family had failed to pay more than $50,000 in rent. The conflict was made public after Bush signed with another sports agent. Lake and Michaels claimed that they founded their agency with the help and co-operation from Bush and his stepfather, LaMar Griffin.
As part of a settlement reached, Bush stated that neither he nor his family did anything wrong in dealings with Michaels and Lake. However, the Heisman Trophy winner agreed to a settlement, which sources claim lies between $200,000 and $300,000. Bush is currently in his second year with the New Orleans Saints, has allegedly signed a contract worth up to $60 million. [ESPN SPORTS: REGGIE BUSH AGENT]
