Screenplay Dispute

Los Angeles, CA: (Oct-23-07) Jerry Lewis brought a lawsuit against Spyglass Entertainment Group and Hollywood Pictures Corp., two entertainment companies, over a proposed remake of his 1961 movie "The Errand Boy". The suits were filed in August 2006, with Lewis claiming that he was owed money and alleging breach of contract and fraud. Lewis claimed that a screenplay was prepared for the new version of "The Errand Boy," but the film was never made. Sources revealed that a tentative agreement was reached after both sides met with a mediator and settlement documents were being exchanged. The original lawsuit sought $2.3 million in damages. Though the dispute was resolved, terms of the settlement were not divulged by the settling parties. [EXAMINER: SCREENPLAY DISPUTE]
