Police Officer Discrimination
This is a settlement for the Discrimination lawsuit.
Windsor Locks, CT: (Oct-30-07) Former Officer William Rousseau brought charges against the Windsor Locks Police Department, alleging that he faced age and health discrimination by Police Chief John Suchocki. Records stated that Suchocki had recommended Rousseau's termination in September 2006, and it was unanimously approved by the Police Commission.
As part of a settlement mediated by a town attorney, the town agreed to pay Rousseau $110,000 to resolve his claims. Rousseau was granted retirement in July 2007 after the settlement, which includes medical benefits. As part of the agreement, he was forced to withdraw all grievances and cannot seek re-employment with the town. [JOURNAL INQUIRER: OFFICER BIAS]
