Wage Violations
Boston, MA: (Dec-01-07) The Massachusetts state attorney general's office brought charges against Biovest International Inc., a Worcester-based biotechnology company, alleging that an investigation revealed that the company violated several wage laws. State officials claimed that the company had many instances in which employees were not paid, in violation of the state wage laws. The investigation stemmed from complaints from a number of employees in July and August 2007. They claimed that they were not paid all earned wages and accrued vacation after leaving the company. As part of a settlement reached, Biovest International agreed to pay $302,827 to 32 employees and former employees to resolve allegations.
