Hospital Employee
Othello, WA: (Jan-15-08) Sue Hobler-Inks, a former hospital employee, brought a lawsuit against Othello Community Hospital and its administrator Harry Geller, alleging that she was wrongfully terminated from her job. Hobler-Inks claimed in her suit that she was fired in retaliation for her audits of hospital administration and participation in hospital district commissioner Bob Carlson's election campaign. Sources stated that Hobler-Inks performed auditing activities as part of her job. The audits made Geller look bad, and Hobler-Inks communicated with the Washington State Auditor's Office regarding the information she found.
The lawsuit also noted that Hobler-Inks was an active participant in a campaign to elect Carlson to the Board of Commissioners. Carlson is a current member of the commission. As part of a settlement reached, the parties agreed to resolve the dispute with the Othello Community Hospital agreeing to pay Hobler-Inks $80,000. [COLUMBIA BASIN HERALD: HOSPITAL EMPLOYEE]
