Silicon Valley Settles Tech Engineer Salary Fixing Class Action for $324M
This is a settlement for the Antitrust lawsuit.
San Francisco, CA: Apple Inc, Google Inc, Intel Inc and Adobe Systems Inc have reached a pre-trial settlement of $324 million, potentially ending an antitrust and unfair business practices class action lawsuit that brought by Silicon Valley tech engineers.
The lawsuit alleged that the four tech giants conspired to hold down salaries in Silicon Valley. Specifically, the class action, filed in 2011 by Silicon Valley engineers, alleged that Apple Inc, Google Inc, Intel Inc and Adobe Systems conspired to refrain from soliciting one another' employees in order to avert a salary war.
The trial, which will not be going ahead, was scheduled to begin at the end of May on behalf of roughly 64,000 workers who were seeking $3 billion in damages.
